What Is Page Match?

Page Match is Spotify’s latest cross‑media tool that links the exact spot you’re reading in a physical book or e‑book with the corresponding moment in its audiobook version. By scanning a page, Spotify identifies the matching timestamp and offers to play from that point or save the location for later.

How to Sync from Reading to Listening

Follow these steps to jump from a book to its audiobook:

  • Open the audiobook in Spotify.
  • Tap the Page Match button.
  • Select Scan to listen and grant camera access.
  • Point your phone’s camera at the page you’re currently reading and capture a photo.
  • Spotify matches the page and shows two options: Play from here or Save for later.

How to Sync from Listening to Reading

If you’ve paused an audiobook and want to resume reading, do this:

  • Open the same audiobook in Spotify.
  • Tap the Page Match button.
  • Choose Scan to read.
  • Scan any page of the physical book or e‑book.
  • Spotify tells you whether to flip forward or backward to locate the exact passage where you stopped listening.

Availability and Supported Titles

Page Match rolls out to iOS and Android users for most English‑language titles by the end of the month. Availability may vary by publisher, but the majority of Spotify’s audiobook catalog will support the feature.

Buying Physical Books Through Spotify

In the United States and United Kingdom, Spotify users can now purchase physical books directly in the app thanks to a partnership with Bookshop.org. The integration connects listeners to independent bookstores, offering a seamless way to add a printed copy to your collection.

Why Page Match Matters

Page Match bridges the gap between reading and listening, giving users flexibility to switch mediums without losing their place. It also reinforces Spotify’s push into the broader literary ecosystem, positioning the platform as a one‑stop hub for all kinds of book experiences.
