Samsung Under Fire for Alleged UWB Restriction
UWB (Ultra-Wideband) technology has become a crucial component in precision-finding solutions, powering products like tracker tags. However, a recent claim by a Samsung owner has sparked controversy, suggesting that the company is intentionally limiting this technology on its own phones.
A Redditor, LucianoToscano, discovered that their Galaxy S24 Ultra didn't support precision finding for non-Samsung tracker tags, such as the Moto Tag. Instead, the phone fell back to a 'UWB Lite' mode, which lacks the precise finding and augmented reality functionality offered by Samsung's official tag.
While some users reported that their Moto Tags worked fine with UWB on Samsung phones, others experienced issues. Some found that uninstalling and reinstalling Find Hub resolved the problem.
