Warning: Default Settings May Not Be Optimal

When it comes to Samsung TVs, the default settings may not provide the best viewing experience. Experimenting with different settings can make a big difference. For example, adjusting the brightness level can greatly impact the picture quality. HDR looks best with the brightness maxed out, while SDR may look ideal at a lower level.

Potential Issues with Local Dimming

Local Dimming can cause halo and blooming around bright objects on dark backgrounds. Setting it to Low can reduce this issue, but may not be suitable for all users. On Samsung TVs, the High setting is preferred as it keeps flashpoints bright without surrounding images with a halo.

Motion Smoothing: A Double-Edged Sword

Motion Smoothing can be beneficial for sports and live TV, but may not be suitable for movies and filmic content. Turning it off can help preserve the original aesthetics of the footage. However, users can also adjust the sliders for Blur Reduction and Judder Reduction to customize the settings to their liking.
