Introduction to Personal Intelligence in Google Search
Google’s AI-powered Search now remembers your plans, purchases, and preferences, thanks to the integration with Gmail and Photos.
How Personal Intelligence Works
Google uses context packing, a system that picks out only the most relevant emails or photos and sends them to the model when needed to answer your question. The AI does not train directly on your private Gmail or Photos data.
Benefits of Personal Intelligence in Search
With this update, search feels more personalized. For example, if you’re planning a weekend trip, AI Mode can look at your hotel booking in Gmail and your travel photos in Google Photos to provide more relevant results.
Opt-in Feature and Data Privacy
This feature is opt-in, and Google says it won’t access your data without your permission. You decide when to connect these apps, and you can turn them off at any time.
Providing Feedback and Improving the System
If a suggestion doesn’t seem right, you can give feedback with a “thumbs down” or explain what you meant with a follow-up in AI Mode.
