Gemini's New Personal Intelligence Feature
Gemini is a capable AI platform. Now, it can access data from your Google apps to be more personal.
The new Personal Intelligence feature allows Gemini to remember details from your Gmail inbox, Google Search history, YouTube activity, and more to deliver more personalized results.
Who Can Use Personal Intelligence?
Google is being restrictive about who can use Personal Intelligence. You need to meet certain requirements to use this feature.
- You must have a Google account.
- You must be in a country where Personal Intelligence is available.
- You must have the paid version of Gemini.
If you meet these requirements but don't see Personal Intelligence, it's possible the feature hasn't reached your account yet.
How to Enable Personal Intelligence
Once Personal Intelligence is available for you, you'll see a pop-up about it on the Gemini home screen.
You'll tap a big Get started button at the bottom of the pop-up, follow the prompts to enable Personal Intelligence, and that's about it.
If you never see this pop-up on the home screen, you can also enable Personal Intelligence by following these steps:
- Go to the Gemini settings page.
- Look for the Personal Intelligence option.
- Enable Personal Intelligence.
Once that's done, you can visit this page at any time to customize your Personal Intelligence settings — such as controlling Gemini's access to past chats and which Google apps it can access.
Remember to review your settings carefully to ensure you're comfortable with the level of personalization.
