Foldable Smartphones: A Growing Market
Foldable smartphones have been in the mainstream for almost seven years, with the reveal of the Samsung Galaxy Fold in February 2019. Despite their growing popularity, they still haven't taken over the market.
My Experience with Foldable Smartphones
I had the opportunity to use the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, which I loved despite its flaws. The cover screen was too small, and the inner display wasn't as useful as expected. However, it was perfect for reading webnovels and watching videos.
The Google Pixel 10 Pro: A Strong Competitor
I eventually switched to the Google Pixel 10 Pro, which has its own set of strengths and weaknesses. The camera capabilities, battery life, and update support are all impressive. However, it was the AI features, such as Call Screen and Magic Cue, that really won me over.
The Dilemma: Foldable or Non-Foldable
Despite my love for the Pixel 10 Pro, I find myself missing my foldable smartphone. The question is, can I go back to the Z Fold 5, or should I look for a new foldable device that combines the best of both worlds? The upcoming One UI 8.5 update, which brings new AI features to the Z Fold 5, may be the answer to my prayers.
Conclusion
The debate between foldable and non-foldable smartphones is ongoing. While both have their strengths and weaknesses, it ultimately comes down to personal preference. As for me, I'm still torn between my love for the Z Fold 5 and the Pixel 10 Pro.
