Overview

The Pit of Silence puzzle is the first major test of patience in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. You must align mirrors to direct light beams and shatter two crystals, freeing High Priestess Jacqueline and unlocking new vocation options.

Controls

Approach a mirror and press X / A / B (depending on your controller) to grab it. Drag the mirror horizontally or vertically; it snaps to the floor‑tile grid, so ensure the base is centered on a tile for accurate alignment.

First Crystal Solution

  • Locate the right‑hand crystal on the upper level.
  • Use the two nearby mirrors to create a straight horizontal beam.
  • Place Mirror A on the tile directly in front of the crystal, facing left.
  • Place Mirror B two tiles to the left of Mirror A, angled to reflect the beam straight into the crystal.
  • Activate the beam; the crystal shatters.

Second Crystal Solution

  • The second crystal sits on the left side of the chamber and requires a “snake” pattern.
  • Start with Mirror 1 on the far‑left tile, angled upward.
  • Mirror 2 goes two tiles right, angled down‑right.
  • Mirror 3 continues three tiles right, angled up‑right.
  • Mirror 4 positions near the center, angled down‑right toward the crystal.
  • Adjust each mirror until the light weaves around the central obstacles and hits the crystal.

Tips & Tricks

  • Check the grid: a mis‑centered mirror will break the chain.
  • If the beam stops, backtrack one mirror and nudge it by one tile.
  • Use the “pause” button to give yourself time to plan the next reflection.
  • Save before adjusting the second crystal; you can reload if the pattern fails.

Next Steps

After both crystals are destroyed, return to High Priestess Jacqueline. You’ll soon regain your skills and be able to change vocations before confronting Cardinal Sin – a pivotal moment in the story.
