New Chip Supplier for Apple

A new research note says Intel may start making Apple chips using its 14A process in 2028. This means Intel will supply Apple with some of its A21 and A22 chips.

What Does This Mean?

TSMC will still be Apple's main chip supplier. Intel will only make the chips, not design them. Intel may also make chips for some Mac and iPad models as early as mid-2027.

Why Is Apple Doing This?

Apple wants to diversify its suppliers and not depend on just one company. This move may also help Apple avoid political scrutiny by showing it's bringing some manufacturing back to the US.
