Design and Build Quality

The Nitro 18 AI follows a utilitarian black aesthetic, thin for an 18‑inch machine but relatively heavy. Build materials feel cheap and the chassis shows flex, especially around the touchpad area.

Display

It sports a 2560×1600 WQXGA panel that delivers sharp images, though colour vibrancy lags behind premium rivals and occasional reflections can be distracting.

Performance

Equipped with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti and up to 32 GB RAM, the laptop handles AAA titles well. In The Outer Worlds 2 it reaches the high‑70s to low‑80s fps on max settings with DLSS 3 and Ray Tracing. Cyberpunk 2077 averages around 30 fps on Ultra RT, boosted to the high‑50s–low‑70s with Frame Generation.

General productivity can suffer occasional freezes, and one 3DMark run crashed.

Keyboard

The back‑lit RGB keyboard feels up‑market, offering a comfortable layout and plenty of function shortcuts, though the Fn‑lock requires a BIOS reboot.

Touchpad

The touchpad is a weak point: random clicks, stuck presses and missed taps suggest a faulty unit and overall low build quality.

Ports and Connectivity

  • 3 × USB‑A
  • 2 × USB‑C (video capable)
  • HDMI, RJ‑45, headset jack, microSD slot

Port placement is logical, with USB‑A on both sides and most other ports on the rear.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is modest, but the laptop charges quickly – a full charge in about two hours.

Verdict

The Acer Nitro 18 AI delivers strong RTX 50‑series gaming performance at a competitive price, but its cheap chassis, problematic touchpad and occasional stability issues keep it from being a top‑tier choice.
